Our History

The Women’s Prayer Partners Ministry was birthed through Sister Helen Saunders, a woman of God who has been a member of In Christ New Hope Ministry from its beginning. The Women’s Prayer Partner ministry began in the latter part of 1998, the foundational scriptures for the ministry during that time were “And the thing that thou has heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also”
2
Timothy 2:2 KJV; “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”  . . . . .
2 Timothy 2:15, KJV

The vision given to Sister Helen for the ministry was for women to encourage, support and uplift one another through studying the word of God along with prayer. The Women’s Prayer Partners met monthly. The meetings began with reading and discussing the foundation scriptures. The discussion would then turn to discussing prayer requests and testimonies of prayers answered from the previous month’s meeting. Upon completing the prayer report the group would then have the word study. At the conclusion of each meeting the group would chose the topic for the following month’s word to study and take pray request. Each person’s prayer request was recorded and during the month leading up to the next meeting the prayers were being prayed for by the group.

At the end of Sister Helen Saunders’ season Sister Bertha T. Farrell continued in the vision given for the Women’s Prayer Partners upon till her transition to heaven in 2009.  Upon Sister Bert’s (as she was known) transition Sister Beverly Barcliff took the lead in the Women’s Prayer Partners Ministry until the summer of 2010. During a time without an appointed leader, Sister Cathy Little stood in the gap and assisted in keeping the ministry going.  In the fall of 2011, Ulandus Powell-Quinn was appointed by Pastor Roger L. Breedlove as Ministry Leader for the Women’s Prayer Partners.

The vision given to Ulandus for the women of In Christ is to minister to women through the word of God, helping them to reach healing, wholeness and forgiveness attaining deliverance; And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you freeJohn 8:32; NKJV; Empowering women to go into the market place to build up other women for the work of the kingdom.  “And of some have compassion making a differenceJude 22; NKJV

The foundation scripture under Ulandus’ leadership is “That you may walk worthy of the Lord fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God”. Colossians 1:10; NKJV. The Women’s Prayer Partners meet monthly beginning with 30 minutes of teaching on various topics relevant to today’s concern for the women in the body of Christ. Upon the conclusion of the teaching, discussion surrounding the topic occurs with the women giving voice to their perspective on the particular topic.
